sister sister

Whether it is exploring around the house, or relaxing in their tiger dresses, it is easy to notice the special bond Anne Lawson and Holland have as sisters.

halloween: act one

While Wells may look content on the outside, he is in deep emotional turmoil underneath the pumpkin outfit.

special painting

Thaks to our great friend Lizard who surprised us with a wonderful painting of all of the Finch kids on Lawson's bench. It was an overwhelming surprise on a day we were grieving Lawson's passing and wondering about ways to help remember him.

sad, but precious day

The whole family spent most of Sunday afternoon at the Botanical Gardens. It was three years ago Lawson passed away. We took some sweet pictures, but it is still very sad to think how much we miss little Lawson.

Thanks to so many of you for your thoughtful cards, phone calls and e-mails. It means a great deal to us that his memory is still alive. With every year that passes, each mention of Lawson is that much more special.

A special thanks to Mere Mere who was with us and brought flowers to leave at Lawson's bench. Anne Lawson thought they were especially tasty.

pool time II

H: "I am glad we finally got a pool, but I cannot help but wonder at all of the good times we could have been having all summer, right here in our own front yard."

H: "But man am I glad we finally got one."

pool time

Wells wastes no time getting comfortable in the new pool.

Anne Lawson is not quite sure about this new apparatus in the front yard and eases into the pool slowly.

W: "Hey. What are you looking at?"

A.L.: "I admit I was skeptical at first, but WOW is this fun!"

I'm going to be okay

Wells got all good news at his post-op visit today. The mystery mass was an ectopic cervical thymus, which means it was extra thymus tissue that he was born with. The thymus gland is in the chest and serves in immune function. Thankfully, Wells' thymus gland is in tact and apparently functioning fine, so he shouldn't miss the extra tissue. Maybe God thought he just needed a little extra boost to get him through his first winter as a premie. Thanks for all the prayers and concern (and balloons). We're so glad to have this behind us!

fun day at the market

Bleu and Bo are even more excited than the babies to go on our weekly adventure to the market.

Mommy picks out some fresh bread.

Strangers approach the babies and gaze curiously at the triplets.

Wells is ready for his nap a little early.

more market pics

Holland manages to stretch out even in the midst of her five point safety harness.

Anne Lawson is laid back and taking in all the scenery.

it was a great day at the market

no parking

Wells enjoyed a ride around the waiting room, just before his surgery on Wednesday. He is an excellent driver.
With the exception of his wound needing to heal, Wells is back to normal. He is eating, sleeping and playing just like he was prior to the surgery.

Update on Wells

The surgery went extremely well. The procedure took about an hour and a half to complete and Wells is on his way to a nice recovery. Wells spent last night in the hospital, but returned home this morning. The doc was still not able to identify the mass, but is confident it was benign. We will know more detail once the pathology report is returned next week. Thanks to everyone for their concern and prayers.

Wells surgery

"Please pray for me. I am having surgery on Wednesday morning to have a cyst removed from the right, lower side of my jaw. The doctors think it is a lipoma (benign, fatty tumor), but they cannot be sure until they take it out. It is a little scary, but the doctors tell us it is better to do the surgery now, while I am little. The cyst is in an easy place to remove now, and if we wait, it could grow, or move to a place that would make it harder to take out. If all goes well, I will only have to spend one night in Children's Hospital. Thank you for praying for a safe procedure and an easy recovery." Posted by Picasa

truckin'

In a blatant disregard for infant car seat laws, Wells loads up his cousin Landon and takes him for a ride in his new dump truck.

is this seat taken?

Holland is happy to share her seat with Anne Lawson.

Wells does his impression of Dan Akroyd in Spies Like Us just after riding in the G Force Simulator....and yes, Soulfinger by the Barkays is one of his favorite songs.

happy meal

HEY! I love these carrots.
Mommy says they are good for me.
I am not kidding. They are really yummy.
Don't even think about trying to take my carrots.
