Anne Lawson, Wells and Holland enjoy their first nap together in their new crib. Life sure is peaceful at home.

cuddle bunny
Wells likes to get cozy with his little bunny blanket. Although babies this old can only focus on objects less than one foot away, we swear he is looking at us when his eyes are open.
Although we thought Anne Lawson was coming home today, the doctor was more comfortable keeping her one more night. She and Wells may get to go home together. Angel and I are anxious to get them all home, but we know if they come home too early, we may wind up right back at the doctor, so we are just enjoying the well qualified babysitters at UAB.

chillin'
This is a picture of Holland taken last night. Although she had to be placed back into the isolette (special little plastic house to help regulate her temperature and environment), she enjoys being able to stretch out and nap with no clothes on. None of the cultures the doctors were watching have produced anything to cause them concern. As long as her feeds increase, she will get to go back into an open crib in the next day, or so, and home as early as the weekend.
All three of the babies passed their hearing test yesterday! Yippee!

one down, three to go
Angel got to check out of UAB earlier today and is at home preparing for the arrival of our three wee ones. It looks like Anne Lawson and Wells will be getting their release tomorrow or Wednesday. Holland had some difficulty keeping her temperature up late last night and early this morning, so the doctor has ordered cultures to rule out the chance of a virus or infection. Holland was started on antibiotics this a.m., as a precaution. If the cultures come back negative, she should be home by the end of the week.

What a happy family!
Welcome to the world!
At 9:33 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, Wells, Anne Lawson, and Holland Finch were born (in that order). Check out the stats on these babies...It's gotta be some kinda record...
Wells Hunter...5.0 lbs, 17.5 inches long
Anne Lawson...5.0 lbs (revised from earlier), 16 inches long
Holland Sellers...4 lbs 8 oz, 17 inches long
They are all resting comfortably in the NICU for at least a day. We are encouraged they are already breathing room air and taking bottle feedings exceeding 20cc.
There were no complications with the c-section and Momma is recovering from the surgery well.

34 weeks and 5 days
Hump day has come and almost gone and brought little progress toward labor. The triplets heartrates continue to be impressive and Angel's blood pressure is stable, so the doctors are content to let Angel gestate. Please pray that Angel will be comfortable in the days ahead.

34 weeks and 4 days
Angel has surpassed a full week of time at the luxurious spa at UAB. If she stays another week, they promise her a free weekend of pampering on her next stay.
The hospital stay seems to have subsided the contractions and haulted further dilation. While it is certainly a benefit to the triplets to cook for a few more days, Momma has had about enough of the discomforts brought on initially by original sin, and presently by three babies that are not so sensative to their mother's ribs.
She is still at 4cm, which is where she was when we were admitted last Monday, and she only has occasional contractions. Although the full moon does not seem to be living up to the old wives' tales of inducing labor, the doctor assures us they will be born at a time that is "the most inconvenient". That time may be later today, and it could be later next week, but if Angel makes it to 36 weeks, the doctors will allow her to gestate no longer.
Please check back in for updates. I will make them as often as I am able, and have anything of substance to report.
