its great to be an Auburn Tiger

Holland enjoyed her first trip to an SEC game, despite the fact the Tigers were no where to be found. This picture was taken just before kickoff, when Mommy still had something to smile about.
Yes, it was a long day and Holland had no trouble snoozing on the way home. Hopefully, she will awaken to remember the debacle on the football field as just a bad dream. I know Daddy is hoping to wake up to realize it was only a nightmare.

last day on the beach

The whole fam soaks in the final few minutes of sunshine on our last day at the beach.

over here

Getting four infants to "pose" for the same picture is quite a feat, but this one turned out great. A.L. Holland, Wells, and Barrett made the most of their last day at the beach, staying out until the sun went down. What you cannot see in this picture is just how entertaining the adults were with their wildy, flagrant efforts toward getting the kids to smile.
Bo and Bleu were just happy to be included on the trip.

beach bums

The crystal clear gulf waters were inviting enough for Holland to crawl right in. There is little or no fear in this child.
Anne Lawson takes a more reserved spot several feet away from the gently breaking waves. She did warm up to the gulf waters later on, as long as contact with mommy or daddy was maintained.

Hey Ladies! Check me out over here under the umbrella.

the whole crew

Our crew continues to expand. The Boners, Rogers, and Romeros joined us for long weekend at the beach. The weather was perfect and the triplets were glad to have all of the extra attention.

welcome to the SEC

Wells made his SEC football debut in Starkville last month. We arrived just in time to get some tailgating in with cousin's Hal, Richelle, Hannah, and Claire.
WARRRRR EAGLE, HEY!

Disregarding the warnings of the PA announcer and ignoring the armed guards manning the perimeter of the endzone, Wells makes a valiant attempt to storm the field after a shutout victory against the Bulldogs.

zoo fountain

Wells and his buddy Barrett sit quielty in the stagnet water thinking about one day soon being able to run through the dancing water fountain at the zoo. Holland is content in the background to entertain herself.

sister sister

Whether it is exploring around the house, or relaxing in their tiger dresses, it is easy to notice the special bond Anne Lawson and Holland have as sisters.

halloween: act one

While Wells may look content on the outside, he is in deep emotional turmoil underneath the pumpkin outfit.

special painting

Thaks to our great friend Lizard who surprised us with a wonderful painting of all of the Finch kids on Lawson's bench. It was an overwhelming surprise on a day we were grieving Lawson's passing and wondering about ways to help remember him.

sad, but precious day

The whole family spent most of Sunday afternoon at the Botanical Gardens. It was three years ago Lawson passed away. We took some sweet pictures, but it is still very sad to think how much we miss little Lawson.

Thanks to so many of you for your thoughtful cards, phone calls and e-mails. It means a great deal to us that his memory is still alive. With every year that passes, each mention of Lawson is that much more special.

A special thanks to Mere Mere who was with us and brought flowers to leave at Lawson's bench. Anne Lawson thought they were especially tasty.

pool time II

H: "I am glad we finally got a pool, but I cannot help but wonder at all of the good times we could have been having all summer, right here in our own front yard."

H: "But man am I glad we finally got one."

pool time

Wells wastes no time getting comfortable in the new pool.

Anne Lawson is not quite sure about this new apparatus in the front yard and eases into the pool slowly.

W: "Hey. What are you looking at?"

A.L.: "I admit I was skeptical at first, but WOW is this fun!"
