special painting

Thaks to our great friend Lizard who surprised us with a wonderful painting of all of the Finch kids on Lawson's bench. It was an overwhelming surprise on a day we were grieving Lawson's passing and wondering about ways to help remember him.

sad, but precious day

The whole family spent most of Sunday afternoon at the Botanical Gardens. It was three years ago Lawson passed away. We took some sweet pictures, but it is still very sad to think how much we miss little Lawson.

Thanks to so many of you for your thoughtful cards, phone calls and e-mails. It means a great deal to us that his memory is still alive. With every year that passes, each mention of Lawson is that much more special.

A special thanks to Mere Mere who was with us and brought flowers to leave at Lawson's bench. Anne Lawson thought they were especially tasty.

pool time II

H: "I am glad we finally got a pool, but I cannot help but wonder at all of the good times we could have been having all summer, right here in our own front yard."

H: "But man am I glad we finally got one."

pool time

Wells wastes no time getting comfortable in the new pool.

Anne Lawson is not quite sure about this new apparatus in the front yard and eases into the pool slowly.

W: "Hey. What are you looking at?"

A.L.: "I admit I was skeptical at first, but WOW is this fun!"
